The mechanical innovations of the Askania factories took an important part in legendary achievments. Whether at sea or on water, in many pioneering achievements of the 20th century, timepieces and on-board instruments from Askania were an essential success factor.
One main actor of such a story is Captain A. P. Fyodorov, a legendary captain and sailor who sailed the Black Sea for many decades and earned numerous awards.
As recognition for his skills, the leadership of the Caspian Fleet Association presented him a marine pocket watch in 1926, with a refined hand-wound movement from Askania.
Thanks to the commitment of our CEO Leonhard R. Müller, we were able to acquire this unique piece of Askania history and we are therefore pleased to set another monument to a piece of history with our special model ODESSA, in a strictly limited edition of 100 pieces.
The Watch
Manufactured in a 42mm case size and with our highly refined hand-wound ASKANIA 1040 movement in the Ukraine color design, the inner values are fully convincing. Our dial refers to the historical design of Captain Fjodorov’s marine pocket watch and delights the viewer with its creamy- white dial plate, with applied Roman numerals, blued hands and a small second at 6 o’clock. Of course, you get the known 5-year full ASKANIA factory warranty and 5 bar water resistance.
For a good cause
Of course, we at ASKANIA are aware of the current situation and we don’t want to stand by when injustice happens in the world. Therefore, with every sold watch, we support Jona’s Haus, an institution known far beyond the city limits. With this support, Ukrainian refugees will have the opportunity to forget the horrors of war for a moment.
